About the Role
Sohar Shipping LLC, the Evergreen shipping line franchise agent in Oman, is looking for a motivated Omani national to join its finance team as we professionalise our financial processes and controls. This is a great opportunity for an early-career finance graduate to build a strong foundation in shipping/agency accounting, with structured mentorship and exposure to the full finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process day-to-day transactions including payments, vendor invoices, and customer billings in line with company procedures.
2. Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and maintain supporting work papers
3. Support accounts payable activities: invoice matching, vendor coding, and payment preparation.
4. Support accounts receivable activities: invoicing, ageing tracking, and collection follow-up.
5. Assist in preparing journal entries and month-end close schedules under supervision.
6. Maintain accurate, organised records in the company's shared finance drive per document retention policy.
7. Support preparation of regulatory filings (VAT, tax, statutory) alongside the Finance Manager.
8. Assist in preparing the monthly management report and supporting schedules
9. Use the company's Jupiter (JBM) system accurately for day-to-day financial postings.
10. Support ad-hoc finance projects, including the rollout of new policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
2. 0–2 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply)
3. Omani national encouraged
4. Good working knowledge of MS Excel; exposure to accounting software is an advantage.
5. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn structured financial processes.
6. Good communication skills in English and Arabic.
7. High level of integrity and discretion, given exposure to sensitive financial information.
